Company Description
Livingston International Income Fund (the Fund), is a Canada-based Company. The Fund's subsidiary, Livingston International Inc. (Livingston), and its affiliates and partnerships in Canada and United States, conduct the day-to-day business operations of the Fund. The Fund operates under four segments: Canadian customs brokerage, United States customs brokerage, Transportation and logistics, and Border services. Canadian customs brokerage comprises of all of the Fund's Canadian customs brokerage, event logistics and customs consulting operations. United States customs brokerage includes all of its United States customs brokerage operations, air/sea clearance operations and United States customs consulting services. Transportation and logistics include its freight and integrated logistics operations. Border services are comprised of its managed services and technology services.

Mr. Peter Valentine has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Livingston International Income Fund since February 2009. He has been Chair of Livingston’s Audit Committee since December 2004. He is also a member of the Corporate Governance Committee and the Special Committee. Mr. Valentine is currently a corporate director, serving as a director and member of the audit committee of the board of Superior Plus Corp. In February 2003, he began serving as a trustee of Fording Canadian Coal Trust (“Fording”) and joined its governance committee in May 2004. He continued in these capacities until November 2008, when all of the outstanding units of Fording were acquired by another corporation. From April 2004 to January 2008, Mr. Valentine was a member of the board of directors of PrimeWest Energy Trust. He chaired its audit and finance committee from May 2005 to July 2007, but remained a member of that committee until he left the board in January 2008. In the fall of 2007, Mr. Valentine was appointed a governor of the Canada School of Public Service, a federal crown corporation. From February 2002 until the end of January 2007, he served as both senior advisor to the president and CEO of the Calgary Health Region and senior advisor to the Dean of Medicine, University of Calgary. In May 2005, he was appointed chair of the Alberta Securities Commission for an interim period while a permanent candidate was being sought. In July 2003, Mr. Valentine completed an eight-month term as interim vice-president, finance and services, of the University of Calgary. From 1995 to 2002, he served as the Auditor General of Alberta. While a member of the firm KPMG, from 1958 to 1995, Mr. Valentine was recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is also a graduate of the Directors’ Education Program of the ICD Corporate Governance College and has been accredited with the ICD.D designation. | |||
