EMIS Group, the UK leader in connected healthcare software and services, today announces the planned retirement of Mike O'Leary and is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick De Smedt to the Board as an independent Non-executive Director and Chairman designate.

 

Mike will retire at the conclusion of the 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 6 May 2020, after nine years of service with EMIS Group as Chairman of the Board and of its nomination committee.

 

Patrick De Smedt will be formally appointed as an independent Non-executive Director on 1 January 2020 and will take over as Chairman of the Board and of its nomination committee on Mike's retirement.

 

Patrick has a wealth of international business experience including a diverse portfolio of Board appointments in public and private equity-backed companies varying in size up to multi-billion pound revenues. He was previously interim Chairman of KCOM Group plc during a period which included the successful sale of the company earlier this year. His entire executive career was spent in the software sector, primarily with Microsoft, across a range of management roles throughout Europe. His last executive role was as Chairman for Microsoft EMEA.  He is currently Senior Independent Director of PageGroup plc, in addition to a number of private company roles.
