APPOINTMENT OF SENIOR INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR

The Boards of AIB Group plc and Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. (together the "Group" or "AIB") yesterday resolved to appoint Ms Helen Normoyle as Senior Independent Director with effect from 1 July 2022. She will take over this responsibility from Ms Carolan Lennon whose intended retirement from the Boards of the Group with effect from 30 June 2022 was announced on 25 February 2022. Ms Normoyle has served as an independent non-executive Director of the Group since December 2015.

This announcement is made in accordance with the Euronext Listing Rule 6.1.64 and UK Listing Rule 9.6.11.
