Nationwide Building Society (the "Society") announces Board changes
Nationwide Building Society is pleased to announce the appointment of David Bennett as a Non-Executive Director of the Society with effect from 13 November 2024.
David is an experienced Board Chair and Non-Executive Director. He has extensive experience of retail banking, strategy, risk management, corporate activity and organisation, operational and structural change gained from his long career in financial services. He has been Board Chair of Virgin Money UK PLC since May 2020, and prior to that was Deputy Board Chair since 2015. He is also Chairman of Allfunds Group plc, Non-Executive Director of PayPal (Europe) S.a.r.l et CIE, S.C.A and PayPal Digital Inc, Chairman of PayPal UK Ltd and Non-Executive Board member of the Department for Work and Pensions.
His extensive business career includes time as Group Finance Director of Alliance & Leicester plc for six years before becoming its Group Chief Executive. Following the acquisition of Alliance & Leicester plc by Banco Santander he was Executive Director on the Board of Abbey National plc.
