CASIO'S ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: MELISSA SANCHEZ
Classically Trained Pianist Blends Structure and Soul as She Reimagines the Live Event Experience
"Melissa brings a rare combination of classical precision and modern emotional storytelling," said
Sanchez's journey with the piano began at age seven in her hometown in
"There's something powerful about playing at weddings or private gatherings," said Sanchez. "It's more than a performance, it's an experience. I've learned to play by ear, read the room, and make every set unique."
A longtime user of Casio's Privia line of digital pianos, Sanchez relies on both the PX-S1100 and her favorite, the PX-S7000, for their portability, elegant design, and expressive sound. The battery-powered models allow her to perform in remote and outdoor venues with ease, while their grand piano touch and tone meet the high expectations of classically trained artists like herself.
"The PX-S7000 is more than an instrument, it's part of the aesthetic," she added. "Clients often decorate around it. It adds elegance to the environment and delivers an incredible sound every time."
Now entering her fifth year as a full-time performer, Sanchez continues to evolve. She's currently working on an album that blends her classical roots with original compositions inspired by her live work. As part of Casio's Women in Music Spotlight Series, Sanchez is using her platform to inspire the next generation of musicians, particularly young women exploring nontraditional paths in music.
"I want others to see that you don't have to choose between technique and emotion, or between classical and contemporary," she said. "Your uniqueness is your power. If I can show someone that their passion is worth pursuing, then I'm doing my part."
