Koninklijke Ahold N.V. (Ahold) is a retailing group based in the Netherlands and active in the United States and Europe. The Company operates through three business segments: Ahold USA, The Netherlands and Czech Republic. The Ahold USA segment includes stores, such as Stop & Shop in New England, Stop & Shop in New York Metro, Giant Landover, Giant Carlisle and Peapod. The Netherlands segment includes stores, such as Albert Heijn, Albert Heijn Belgium, Albert Heijn Germany, Etos, Gall & Gall, bol.com and Albert Heijn Online. The Czech Republic segment includes food retail brand, Albert. The Company operates around 3,206 stores, which includes 768 stores in the United States, 2,105 stores in the Netherlands and 333 stores in the Czech Republic. The Company holds 49% interest in JMR, a joint venture, which manages Pingo Doce, a supermarket chain in Portugal.
