Koninklijke Ahold NV is a Netherlands-based retail group. Through its subsidiaries the Company operates supermarkets, wine and liquor stores, convenience stores, online daily needs ordering and delivery platforms, drugstores and pharmacies. It operates two continental business platforms, Ahold Europe and Ahold USA. Ahold Europe comprises Albert Hein in the Netherlands and Belgium; Etos, Gall & Gall, and albertn.nl in the Netherlands; and Albert / Hypernova in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Ahold USA is organized into four retail divisions: Giant Carlisle, Giant Lanover, Stop & Shop New England, and Stop & Shop New York Metro. The Peapod online business is also part of Ahold USA. The Company also holds a 49% interest in JMR - Gestao de Empesas de Retalo, SGPS SA, based in Portugal. On August 2012, the Company acquired 78 C1000 and four Jumbo supermarkets. On March 27, 2013, the Company completed the sale of ICA.
