Charitable Contributions

 

The Board of Directors of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD) ("SEC"), on November 30, 2021, authorized the following contributions:

 

1. Contribution to Community Chest of Korea's annual fundraising campaign for 2022

-     SEC will contribute KRW 25.6 billion to the Heemang 2022 Nanum Campaign, the annual fundraising event of
Community Chest of Korea, a social welfare corporation, to help the underprivileged as a part of SEC's corporate
social responsibility activities.

2. Contribution to the United Nations Development Programme ("UNDP")

-     As a part of SEC's partnership with the UNDP ("Partnership") as well as its engagement in the United Nation's
effort to achieve The Global Goals*, SEC will make to the UNDP a charitable contribution sourced by the
proceeds from Samsung Global Goals, SEC's user-participation sustainability platform, and the matching fund.

    * A set of 17 goals adopted at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015 to achieve a sustainable future for all.

Other Information

- For each year of the Partnership, SEC will contribute to the UNDP
the proceeds from Samsung Global Goals platform over the
previous twelve-month period (from November 1 through October
31); the timing of the contribution is subject to change.

- This year's contribution includes the proceeds from Samsung
Global Goals from November 1, 2020 through October 31, 2021.

1) Based on the currency exchange rate at close on November 23, 2021 (1 USD = 1,189 KRW)
