Standard Chartered PLC is a United Kingdom-based bank, which is engaged in the business of retail and commercial banking. The bank provides a range of products and services for personal and business customers across 70 countries. Its services include Personal Banking, Business Banking, Private Banking, Islamic Banking and Online Banking. Its strategy is to bank the people and companies driving investment, trade and the creation of wealth across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The Company operates its business in two segments: Consumer Banking and Wholesale Banking. Consumer Banking includes Personal and Preferred Banking customers, Priority and International Banking customers, Private Banking customers and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). Wholesale Banking includes Global Corporates, Local Corporates, Financial Institution and Commodity Traders and Agribusiness. It consists of 1,600 branches, offices and outlets in 70 countries.
