The Semiconductors segment includes semiconductor-based products and solutions for customers in the automotive, consumer, industrial and medical technology end markets. Its automotive market includes differentiated LED (Light-emitting diode)solutions for head lamps and other front lighting, exterior lighting, and interior ambient lighting for vehicles. In addition, the Company's business unit Opto Semiconductors (OS) is into emitter technologies (LEDs and laser diodes), CMOS Sensors and ASICs (CSA) is in sensor and analog mixed signal integrated circuits (IC). The L&S segment includes lamp and lighting systems with a focus on the automotive and industrial end markets. L&S’s automotive business mainly comprises traditional halogen, xenon and signal lamps for vehicles, LED-based lamps and modules and retrofit lighting systems.
