Court Judgment Relating to Embezzlement by Officer or Employee

In accordance with disclosure regulations for capital markets, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD) ("Company") today disclosed the judgment by the Supreme Court regarding the influence-peddling scandal involving the Company's executives (including former executives) indicted by the special prosecutor on February 28, 2017.

1. Relevant persons: Jae-yong Lee (Vice Chairman), Gee-sung Choi (former Vice Chairman), Choong-ki Chang (former President), Sang-jin Park (former President), Seong-soo Hwang (former Senior Vice President)

2. Judgments on matters related to embezzlement: Found guilty on some charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes.

7. Other information

1) The Supreme Court has overturned parts of a judgment by the High Court regarding charges of bribery and violations of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes, remanding the case to the High Court. Therefore, the amount of judgment has not been included in this disclosure.

2) This disclosure is subject to change according to any subsequent judgment by the High Court.

3) The total equity mentioned above is based on the Company's consolidated financial statement as of
the end of 2018.

4) The date of ruling indicates the date on which the judgment was issued by the Supreme Court,not
the date on which the final determination is made.
