Appointment of Independent Non-Executive Director and retirement of Richard Levy

 

The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Graeme Proudfoot as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 December 2020.

 

Mr. Graeme Proudfoot is currently chairman of Blackrock Income and Growth Investment Trust plc and brings a wealth of asset management expertise and investment trust experience, having spent his executive career at Invesco, latterly as Managing Director, EMEA and CEO of Invesco Pensions. Mr. Graeme Proudfoot joined Invesco in 1992 as a legal advisor and held various roles within the Invesco Group, including General Counsel of Invesco Global, before moving to take responsibility for a number of businesses in the UK including Invesco's investment trust business, which he led from 1999 until his retirement from Invesco in 2019, during which period it was one of the leading businesses in the industry with trusts with a range of investment styles and structures. Prior to joining Invesco, Mr. Graeme Proudfoot began his career at Wilde Sapte, Solicitors, practising in London and New York.

 

Following the appointment of Mr. Graeme Proudfoot as a new independent non-executive director, Mr. Richard Levy will retire from the Board on 31 December 2020.

He brings with him valuable  expertise from the 20 years he spent running Invesco's investment trust business, where he earned an excellent reputation for his responsive dealings with shareholders, the broking community, regulators and stakeholders. We were looking for a director with deep expertise in the investment trust market and the standing, mindset, and knowledge to be independent and capable of challenge. Graeme certainly has those attributes.

Mr. Graeme Proudfoot does not have any interest in the ordinary shares of the Company .

Mr. Graeme Proudfoot was previously a Director of the following publicly listed company: Invesco Markets III plc. There are no further details or disclosures required under Listing Rule 9.6.13 in respect of Mr. Graeme Proudfoot.
