Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' reaches UK Number 1

The Board of Hipgnosis Songs Fund Limited, the first UK listed investment company offering investors a pure-play exposure to songs and associated intellectual property rights, and its Investment Adviser, The Family (Music) Limited, are delighted to announce that Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' is Number 1 on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100 for the first time in its 26 year history. In achieving this incredible milestone, 'All I want For Christmas Is You' was streamed over 10.8 million times over the last seven days, making it the most streamed song in a week in 2020.

Hipgnosis acquired 'All I Want For Christmas is You' on 30 September 2020 as part of the catalogue of Walter Afanasieff, who co-wrote and co-produced the hit Song with Mariah Carey. Since its release in 1994, the song has sold over 16 million copies worldwide making it not only the most successful Christmas song, but also one of the bestselling singles of all time.
