SPECTRIS APPOINTS NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Spectris plc ('Spectris') (LSE: SXS), the expert in providing insight through precision measurement, today announces that Dr. Ravi Gopinath has been appointed to its Board as a Non-executive Director with effect from 1 June 2021.
Ravi is Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Cloud Officer at AVEVA, having previously been Executive Vice President of the Schneider Electric Software Business which was merged with AVEVA in 2018. He is a highly experienced business leader, with over 25 years of diverse, global engineering and software experience and has a proven track record in setting up, scaling and transforming high-growth and profitable technology businesses. Ravi, who is based in Singapore, is an engineer by profession and also has significant capability in research and development.
Through the search process, the Nominations Committee considered the composition of the Board as a whole to take into account the balance of diversity, ethnicity, skills, experience and knowledge, as well as the tenure and independence of all Board members. The Board acknowledge the importance of diversity within the boardroom and remain committed to meeting the levels of representation recommended by the Hampton Alexander and Parker reviews, and to ensuring that the Board is diverse in the broadest sense.
Announcing the appointment, Mark Williamson, Chairman, said: "I am delighted that Ravi has agreed to join the Board. His considerable global experience in engineering, software and research and development will bring valuable insight and further strengthen the Spectris Board. Ravi's appointment is part of our ongoing commitment to build and maintain a high-quality, diverse and effective Board."
