DIRECTOR RETIREMENT

M.P. Evans Group PLC, a producer of sustainable Indonesian palm oil, announces the following change to its board of directors.

Philip Fletcher

The board of directors of M.P. Evans ("the board") announces that Philip Fletcher, a non-executive director, will be retiring from the board on 31 July 2023. Philip has worked for the Group for 41 years, giving loyal and invaluable service to several Group companies, including this company, both as M.P. Evans Group PLC and in its former guise as Rowe Evans Investments PLC, as well as to others such as Bertam Holdings PLC and Lendu Holdings PLC.

He has held various roles, including finance director, managing director, chairman and, more recently, non-executive director. As an executive director, he was central to the Group's operations and growth. He played a pivotal role in devising the strategy, formed in 2005, to rationalise the former grouping of companies into a single Company, to sell its Malaysian estates and to focus on the expansion of its sustainable palm-oil interests in Indonesia. This has resulted in the hugely enlarged Group we are today.  As a non-executive director, he has been independent minded and consistently provided valuable and insightful advice.

The board wishes to express its gratitude to Philip for his exceptional contribution over his remarkable period of service to the Group. 

Peter Hadsley-Chaplin, chairman, commented "Philip has been at the heart of the Group's operations, its growth and its success for over forty years.  Whilst his wisdom and expertise on the board will be much missed, we shall, of course, stay closely in touch with him in the future".
