Everyday bystanders and trained caregivers honored for taking action to help save a life
CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 27, 2020--
February is American Heart Month and each year, 356,000 people of all ages experience sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), but using an automated external defibrillator (AED) with CPR in the first two minutes can improve survival by 90%1. Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS), a leading provider of workplace first aid, safety supplies and training services, launched the Two90 award program, which recognizes both the company for deciding to get an AED through Cintas that saved a life and the individual who deployed the unit saving a life. The award honors everyday bystanders who act in time to help save a life by using an AED that their company purchased through Cintas.
“In 2019, the AED units we deployed saved, on average, one life per week,” said Katie Gough-Edwards, Marketing Director - First Aid & Safety, Cintas. “This award program provides companies the opportunity to acknowledge individuals who take action and use an AED and perform CPR in an emergency. Their quick thinking and willingness to act in stressful, uncertain situations serve as a worthy example and inspiration.”
The Two90 award is an honor that is reserved for companies who demonstrate devotion to the well-being of employees and visitors by deciding to make AED units available in the workplace. Individual recipients receive a letter of commendation and “thanks” from Cintas, as well as a brass pin that places them in exclusive company with others who share these admirable qualities. The individual’s employer will also receive a letter, certificate and Two90 Note from Cintas leadership to proudly display, making employees and customers aware that they value life-saving technology and training.
“What is more important to a business than the health and safety of their employees and customers?” added Mark Carter, President & COO – First Aid and Safety, Cintas.
