Mark S. Saunders has been appointed to the HSBC Bank Canada Board of Directors as a non-executive director effective today.
Mark is currently Executive Vice-President, Enterprise Services at Sun Life and will retire on 30 April 2021. He was previously Sun Life’s Executive Vice-President & Chief Information Officer for over 11 years and in 2018 was named Canadian Private Sector CIO of the Year by the Information Technology Association of Canada. Prior to joining Sun Life in 2009, Mark was with Barclay’s PLC as Senior Technology Officer for Barclay’s Commercial Bank. He also held executive roles with BMO Financial Group where he managed enterprise infrastructure and as CIO for BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. Mark is also a member of the Sinai Health System Board of Directors and Board of Trustees of the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital.
