JOIN LOWE'S BOLD MISSION TO SHARE ONE MILLION THANKS FOR THOSE RESPONDING TO DISASTERS

Lowe's associates use symbolic store re-opening to call on help across the country to #BuildThanks in honor of all who have helped rebuild communities in the wake of disasters

MOORESVILLE, N.C. , April 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- As Lowe's prepares to reopen its East Asheville store, which was heavily damaged by Hurricane Helene, the company's red vest associates are calling on communities nationwide to help share one million thank yous by May 2 to #BuildThanks for those who are helping communities across the nation rebuild after disasters.

Join Lowe's bold mission to share one million thanks for those responding to disasters across the country.

The effort is inspired by the thousands of first responders, volunteers and nonprofits that immediately responded in the wake of Hurricane Helene and those who continue to respond to disasters across the country – including recent widespread tornadoes and flooding. These everyday heroes run toward catastrophic events to save lives, help clear debris and repair homes and businesses. Their impact rebuilds hope for those who have lost so much.

"Thank you doesn't feel big enough for the heroic work of first responders and volunteers in Western North Carolina and in communities across the country impacted by recent flooding, tornadoes and wildfires," said Joe Strong, store manager at Lowe's of East Asheville. "We're hoping that by launching one million thank yous to those who are helping rebuild the places we love, we might capture the depth of our collective gratitude."

Consumers can join the effort to #BuildThanks and generate one million thank yous to those who are responding to disasters by May 2:

  • Delivering or mailing a thank you poster, sign or note to Lowe's of East Asheville, 89 Tunnel Road, Asheville, N.C. 28805
  • Posting your message of gratitude on social media using #BuildThanks

This initiative builds on Lowe's commitment to supporting communities recovering from disaster. Across the country, Lowe's associates are working alongside first responders and volunteers in the wake of recent severe weather, tornadoes and flooding. Lowe's invested nearly $14 million in response and recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton and $2 million to support wildfire relief in Southern California.
