CANTON, Ohio , July 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Metallus (NYSE: MTUS), a leader in high-quality specialty metals, today welcomed Vice President JD Vance to its Faircrest Steel Plant in Canton, Ohio. The visit was part of the administration's ongoing efforts to highlight the essential role of domestic steel production in supporting national defense, economic resilience and industrial independence, as well as the benefits for workers of the recently passed "One Big Beautiful Bill." Vice President Vance toured the facility, met with employees, and observed production operations.

Vice President Vance addressed employees and local stakeholders, highlighting the federal government's commitment to investing in American workers and businesses. He outlined the bill's financial benefits for individuals and families—most notably, the elimination of taxes on overtime pay. Vance also praised the company for its vital role in supporting national defense, recognizing Metallus' investment in a new bloom reheat furnace and its contributions to the Army's increased artillery shell production. The Vice President further acknowledged the hard work and dedication of Metallus employees.

About the bill, Vice President Vance said that "If you build or expand a great American factory, the federal government is going to reward you instead of penalize you for a change. I think that's the biggest provision in the Big Beautiful Bill: invest in American workers, invest in American companies, and your government is going to fight right alongside you to build those great American dreams."

The visit underscores the administration's commitment to American workers and small and mid-sized manufacturers through policy, investment and workforce initiatives aimed at boosting competitiveness and sustainability.
