Breakthrough +40dBm output power enables longer links, more capacity and lower costs for Private and Public Network applications worldwide

AUSTIN, Texas , Aug. 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviat Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVNW), the expert in wireless transport and access solutions, today announced that its IRU600 indoor microwave radio, supporting the highest ever transmitter power in the industry, is now compliant to ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) standards. This will allow operators worldwide to deploy longer links with more capacity, higher availability and with lower costs than ever before. With its bulletproof reliability IRU600 is especially suited to mission critical applications where resilience and ruggedness is a mandatory requirement.

Available in the 4 to 11 GHz bands, IRU600 supports up to +40 dBm or 10W of output power, the highest power digital radio on the market in the past 30 years and more than 5 times more power than alternative indoor radio solutions, enabling operators to deploy the same links with antennas that are 50% smaller and 75% lighter. If operators utilize leased tower assets instead of owned, the smaller antennas will also slash lease charges that can save 10's of thousands of dollars in OPEX over the lifetime of the equipment and potentially avoid extremely costly tower upgrades or replacement.

For the past 15 years Aviat's IRU600 has been the leading All-Indoor radio in North America, with regular upgrades to increase the radio performance in a smaller rack footprint. All-indoor radios are a highly valued solution for mission critical private network and public safety applications where easy and fast access for maintenance without the need to climb towers to replace outdoor radio units is required, and to enable year-round access regardless of harsh weather conditions that can be experienced in remote locations. IRU600 is a compact 2RU (44mm) high rack mount unit include two independent radios that can be the same or different frequency bands, as well as an integrated antenna coupling unit (ACU).
