About the company

United Plantations Berhad is engaged in the business of oil palm and coconut cultivation and processing on its plantations in Peninsular Malaysia. Its segments include plantations, palm oil refining, and other segment. The plantations segment carries on the business of oil palm and coconut cultivation and processing on its plantations in Peninsular Malaysia and Kalimantan, Indonesia. It is also an active research center providing enhanced planting materials for the Company’s estates as well as for the Malaysian agricultural sector in general. The palm oil refining segment, which carries on the business of palm oil processing, manufacturing of edible oils, fats, cocoa butter substitutes and trading in crude palm oil and palm oil products. The other segments consist of holding companies for subsidiaries in Indonesia which are also involved in marketing and trading of the Company’s products. Its subsidiaries include Bernam Advisory Services Sdn. Bhd. and Berta Services Sdn. Bhd.
