Yancoal Australia Ltd is an Australia-based coal producer and coal exporter, producing premium thermal and metallurgical coal. It owns and operates a diversified portfolio of assets consisting of both large-scale open-cut and underground mines comprising five coal mine complexes in Australia. It owns and operates several mines and mine sites across Australia. It owns or operates eight producing coal mines across New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. Its mines include Moolarben, Mount Thorley Warkworth, Hunter Valley Operations, Ashton, Yarrabee, Cameby Downs, Middlemount, and Premier Coal. Its thermal coal is primarily used in electricity generation, and its end users are typically power and utility companies. Moolarben Coal Complex is located over 40 kilometers north of Mudgee in the Western Coalfields of New South Wales. Mount Thorley Warkworth is an integrated operation consisting of the open cut coal mining operations of Mount Thorley Operations and Warkworth Mine.
