Gem Diamonds Limited is a United Kingdom-based global producer of high value diamonds. The Company owns around 70% of the Letseng mine in Lesotho. The Letseng mine is famous for the production of large, exceptional white diamonds, making it the highest dollar per carat kimberlite diamond mine in the world. In addition, Letseng has produced high quality pink and blue diamonds. Its segments include Lesotho; Belgium; BVI, RSA, UK and Cyprus, and Botswana. Lesotho segment is engaged in diamond mining activities. Belgium segment is engaged in sales, marketing and manufacturing of diamonds. BVI, RSA, UK and Cyprus segment is engaged in technical and administrative services. Botswana segment is engaged in diamond mining activities (on care and maintenance). It owns the Ghaghoo mine in Botswana. Its subsidiaries include Gem Diamond Technical Services (Proprietary) Limited, Letseng Diamonds (Proprietary) Limited, Gem Diamonds Botswana (Proprietary) Limited and Gem Diamonds Investments Limited.
